Norman Wisdom passed away aged 95

Comedian Norman Wisdom sadly passed away aged 95.

His family said he died Peacefully at Abbotswood nursing home on the Isle of man. He suffered a series of strokes over the last 6 months.

Norman Wisdom was born on 4th feb 1915 to Frederick and Maud Wisdom. His Older brother Fred was born in 1913. Norman spent sometime in a children‘s home and ran away aged 11 and  returned to become an errand boy and had many a career change after that. He was a cabin boy, a waiter and a pageboy and became a drummer boy in the 10th royal hussars of the british army and was posted in India as a bandsman. He was a flyweight boxing champion in the British Army in India and also played the trumpet and clarinet.

After Norman left the army in 1946 he made his debut as a professional entertainer and his rise to fame was fast. After Numerous films and his music career Norman announced his Retirement on 4th feb 2005 at the age of 90.

Norman married his second wife Freda  who was a dancer in 1947 and had two children Nicholas and Jacqueline. Norman and Freda divorced in 1954 and Norman was granted full custody of his children. Freda died in 1992.

Norman Wisdom had  an amazing life and his biggest pride were his Chidren.

Norman Wisdom will be sadly missed but his films and  music will live on and keep making people laugh out loud.        R.I.P NORMAN WISDOM
